I was contemplating what, from this weekend, I wanted to add to my blog. After thinking about it a while, I concluded why not take you through the entire weekend. So let’s start at the beginning, Saturday morning. Saturday more was a “late” start for us. We were up at 0530 and out of the house [...] Barb and I headed to Bowman’s Hill yesterday morning – she to go on a bird walk, I to photograph some wildflowers and both of us to buy some flowers at their annual native plant sale. By all accounted the morning was a success even though (if you live around these parts, you know this [...] (1/40 sec @ f/14; ISO 200; -2 EV; natural light) My wife and I made a morning trip to Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve (New Hope, PA) to see what was blooming and what I could photograph while she did some birding. Truth be told, she had a much better day birding than I had photographing wildflowers. I thought this might be the highlight of the day, then I came across the Yellow Lady’s [...] (1/200 sec @ f/11; ISO 200; -1/3 EV; Natural light) When I saw that the little pond at Bowman’s Hill was choked with Duckweed, I started to scan through the sea of green looking for frogs. I was able to spot several and photograph a few. Of all the images, I liked this one the best. We have been slowly turning over our very modest backyard with native plants and wildflowers. This year we purchased some Purple Coneflowers and a couple of varieties of [...] (1/500 sec @ f/14; ISO 640; 0 EV) I just love the Trilliums. My guidebook, Wildflowers of Pennsylvania, says these “large, showy white flowers are 2 to 4 inches across and fade to a rosy pink.” This particular flower is obviously early in the cycle and pretty pure white.
