My familiarity with the Sandy Hook, NJ portion of Gateway National Recreational Area goes back probably a decade. Nothing really went as planned and yet as I sit here on Sunday evening, everything appears to be ending well. And for that I am thankful. Virtually all my photography this weekend involved very short jaunts (it’s about a 20-25 minute drive) to a local lake (Lake Nockamixon in [...] As I said in my previous post, I took only my Lensbaby Composer with accessories on my visit to Longwood Gardens (Kennett Square, PA) this past Monday. The Hibiscus images presented in my prior post were made with the Lensbaby with Soft Focus Optic and Macro lens. I now turn to several images made with [...] I spent most of the day Monday photographing with an out-of-state, online friend inside the conservatory (it was pouring outside) at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. Having been there several times already this year, I decided to challenge myself by only bringing a single lens – the Lensbaby. (I hear some groans out there. [...] Not a whole lot to say here. Most of the morning, I carried two cameras ready to go. One was the 50D with the 24-70 and the other was the 30D with the Lensbaby. I added the soft focus optic for this image. Processing was done with Nik filters – Viveza 2 to adjust brightness, [...] I really like Teasel throughout all the seasons. This is an image I shot on the fly this past weekend and had/has a background that I really don’t like. Actually, I can say that I hated the background on the original image.
