Objective: Experiment with IR images for the purpose of taking them beyond the typical IR landscape image; To utilized some of the more creative techniques that I have been using with color images on IR images.

Time: Today at High Noon
Conditions: Sunny; Shooting position shaded by a large tree
Camera: Canon Rebel XT converted to Infrared by LifePixel
Lens: Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L; Focal Length 24mm
Settings: 1/50 sec @ f/11; ISO 100; -1/3 EV; Custom WB for IR
Post-Processing: Basic adjustments in Lightroom and Photoshop CS4; Topaz Adjust (Spicify Preset as starting point); Topaz Simplify (BuzSim Preset as starting point)

Wow, what an image!
Now that’s really cool!!! The details in it are wonderful!
A WOW image for me, Ed! Excellent composition, details, contrast (!!!) and postprocessing. I’ve never seen and IR image with such adjustments so it looks like a painting (a Topaz used, I know) and I really like it. No, I LOVE it! One small nit: I want to see more of the image, preferably to the left
Your approach and the theme is so perfect that me eyes want to see more. Keep on experimenting, keep us in awe
Wow, this came out great! You know I love texture, and this has tons of it.
WOW! I really, really like this. Love the painting effect! When I saw the tones of the sky and trees, I knew right away that it was an IR image. I di agree with Tomas that I’d like to see more on the left (and a little less of the brigde.)
Still, great job!
Fantastic shot Ed, the tones and mood in this are wonderful, beautiful image !!
Hi Ed,

This is outstanding! Wow! I love this! Talk about a creative curve for IR! I love IR and the Topaz effects truly impress.
Now Ed, ….. this is one very cool piece. Love it!
The overall tones really intrigue me here.
Makes me want to hurry up and convert one of my camera bodies!
Take care buddy,
Michael
Intriguing image, nice use of the IR, great composition
I really like this one Ed. Well done. Gotta love Adjust and Simplify!
I don’t normally go for this kind of thing, but I do find this extremely appealing. The foreground details are especially nice.
By the way, sorry for not being around much lately. I completely understand your decision to drop me from your blogroll.
